Skyline

Fire on the Skyline

Under cover of dark I watch you shine
I don’t really know, I’ve lost track of time
I don’t really care as I watch you shine
Dreaming dreams you might be mine

Smokescreen tries to blind me
Through the smoke I still see
Silhouette standing on a golden sea
Angel standing next to me

There’s a fire on the skyline but I can’t take my eyes off you

As we lie in bed I breathe your breath
I find in your eyes a whole other world
I didn’t know I was there
Now I know I can never live anywhere but there

There’s a fire on the skyline but I can’t take my eyes off you

I don’t want to sit and dream
I don’t want to cry and scream
I don’t want to sit and wish
Won’t you please grant me this

There’s a fire on the skyline but I can’t take my eyes off you

A long time ago I wrote this song about a girl I was in love with. Turns out, as is often the case, it was a bad idea. Regardless, I was out taking pictures recently (with another girl incidentally , though I’m not in love with her yet) and this stunning sky made me think of the song. I’ve just listened to it to type out the lyrics, first time for a while and it made me a little uncomfortable.

I guess as much as I originally planned on having a faceless blog I’m still not quite there with baring my soul. I’m sure they’ll publish journals when I die. You can read all the insider gossip then ;) x
